Notes from our OEM partnerships

Surgi-X is now a year into active surgical-device distribution across West Africa, built on a growing roster of OEM manufacturing partners — Bluesail Medical among them. It has been the proving ground for the captive-supply-chain thesis that now underpins the rest of our healthcare sector.

The biggest lesson has been about lead times: preferred-distributor status only pays off once you can forecast demand accurately enough to order months ahead, and that forecasting discipline took longer to build than any single partner relationship.

This note is a candid look at what worked, what we would do differently, and what it means for the next OEM relationship we bring into the portfolio.
