Captive supply chains and why we own ours

Every hospital chain has a supply-chain problem eventually. Ours is solved before it starts, because Surgi-X — our surgical-device distribution business — sits underneath the hospital layer as a wholly-owned procurement spine.

That gives us bulk-buy leverage, controlled inventory, and margin protection that a hospital operator without a captive distributor simply does not have. It also means the distribution business is profitable on its own terms, independent of how fast the hospital side scales.

This note explains why we built the supply chain first and the hospitals second, and why we think that ordering matters more than it looks like it should.
